Monitor a Forex account without sharing its password: MT4 and MT5
Viewing an account in the dashboard and Telegram does not require sending its trading or investor password to the website. Here is where broker access stays and how to verify the monitoring connection.
Separate broker sign-in from monitoring
MetaTrader stays connected to your broker account in the usual way. Watch FX receives metrics from the Expert Advisor inside that terminal. Its connection settings use the owner's Telegram username; you do not enter the broker account password in the bot or website.
No password request does not mean no data transfer. Monitoring needs an account number, broker information, currency, and financial metrics. Connect accounts you are entitled to share and consider who can view them in the dashboard.
Choose the right file and a separate chart
Use the current file on the Watch FX connection page: EX4 for MT4, EX5 for MT5. Compare its SHA-256 with the download card. A match establishes that the download matches the published build; trust in its source still matters.
Use a separate chart for monitoring. In MT5, attaching a new Expert Advisor to the same chart replaces the existing one, so do not put Watch FX over a running trading robot. Check the loaded program's name and version after installation.
Configure the data connection
Allow WebRequest for https://watch-fx.com and enter the Telegram username that started the official bot. Watch FX does not open, modify, or close trades. AutoTrading or Algo Trading does not need to be enabled for its monitoring reports.
- Check the destination carefully and use HTTPS.
- Do not forward Telegram sign-in codes or MetaTrader passwords.
- After restarting, confirm that the correct account is connected and the advisor remains attached.
Verify freshness, not just the account's presence
Find the account number in the dashboard, check its currency, and inspect the last-data timestamp. A row showing an old Balance does not establish that new reports are arriving. Wait for another update and compare terminal and dashboard values at similar times.
If the timestamp does not advance, check the broker connection, allowed URLs, and Experts journal. A support report needs the error time, advisor version, and message. Do not include passwords, sign-in codes, or other secret data.
